When in the planning process should we hire you?

This could depend on a number of factors, such as when your actual wedding day is, how large of a wedding, etc. Ideally you want to book your planner as soon as possible - we always recommend the first steps in planning include confirming your venue and your planner. We find the process is so much more stress-free this way versus couples who wait until they are overwhelmed with all the details to finally hire a planner. Many couples book a year or more in advance.

Events by Marykate is a wedding and events planner in the Greater Tampa Bay, Florida area. As Florida wedding planners we service multiple areas including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Odessa, Trinity as well as venues three hours outside of the Tampa Bay area.

Our planning packages start at $2,200. We understand that no two weddings are alike, and each couple is unique, we'll match you up with the package that works best for your needs.

Venue Coordinator = Focused on the venue and the 100+ events they do a year if not more. They ensure the space is open, the lights are on, and the tables are set - but their priority is the venue’s interests, not your full wedding vision. They are not creating a timeline, calling all your vendors prior to your wedding, or ensuring every detail is checked prior to or on your day.

Wedding Planner = Focused on YOU. We manage every detail - vendors, timelines, design, family dynamics, last-minute surprises (yes, even those!). We are there through every step, a resource for any questions, and the one there to ensure the day runs smoothly and course correct when needed.

Planning your wedding should feel exciting, not like another full-time job. From our first conversation, we bring clarity, steady support, and a process that’s tailored to you, so things feel manageable from the start.

Our Wedding Planning Process

01. Consultation & Connection

We begin with a conversation to learn about your vision, priorities, and the level of support that would feel most helpful. This consultation allows us to understand what matters most to you and ensures we are the right fit for your wedding.

02. Booking & Getting Started

Once your contract and deposit are confirmed, your date is officially secured and planning begins. You will receive a welcome guide and access to your custom planning portal, where your checklist, timeline, and planning tools live in one organized place.

03. Kickoff & Ongoing Support

During your kickoff call, we review your portal, outline next steps, and map out upcoming milestones. You will also have access to schedule check-in calls whenever you need guidance or clarity. From there, we begin building the foundation of your day. Depending on your service level, this may include budget support, venue and vendor guidance, design direction, and early logistics planning.

04. The Three-Month Countdown

About ninety days before your wedding, we move into full execution. We finalize your timeline, take over vendor communication, confirm logistics, and manage the details that often feel overwhelming so you can enjoy the final months of engagement.

05. Wedding Week & Wedding Day

As your wedding approaches, our team manages the flow of the day from start to finish. On the wedding day, we oversee vendors, setup, timelines, and problem-solving behind the scenes so you can be fully present and enjoy every moment.

From the first conversation to the final send-off, we are here to guide every decision and support you with intention. When every detail is handled with care, you are free to relax, celebrate, and truly experience your wedding day.
